The word Inspire means “In-Spirit”, to live an inspired life simply means to live in your true spirit. When you live in spirit (an inspired life) you let your light shine & you feel completely aligned with your mind & body.

My Story:

I Specialise in Women's hormonal imbalances, digestive health & weight management through Ayurveda & Integrative Health... This is my story of WHY!

I have invested in both 1000's of hrs and dollars into my own personal development and training so that I can offer my students/clients my best self as a mentor, teacher &/or practitioner. 

Through my own personal experience of suffering from anxiety, IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) & a hormonal imbalance whilst running multiple businesses, working as a nurse, teaching yoga/Pilates/fitness classes and caring for my twin Son's I turned to the principles of Ayurveda & Integrative Health to help me achieve more balance in my life and minimise my health-related symptoms. 

I have tried and tested this method and that is why I wholeheartedly believe in its power to heal both the mind & body. 

Looking back I can see clearly that I suffered with 'Rushing Women's Syndrome', striving to kick the next goal, running my own business (HIActive.wear), working as a nurse, teaching multiple classes all over town, living off coffee to get all of the job's done whilst looking after the kids - trying to be their 'supermum' & finding time to connect with the husband... then falling in an exhausted heap at the end of the day all too many times.

My mind was scattered (Vata imbalance) and if I was honest with myself every job was only half done because I was never really present in any one moment. I was berating myself for struggling to get 'it all done'.

I had conflicting negative self-talk sneaking up on me, my anxiety was hitting an all-time high and my stress levels were not healthy. My belly was constantly bloated and cramping, I got sick of people asking if I was pregnant (YES they actually did ask quite often) because my belly would be so bloated that I looked 6 months pregnant. I suffered from IBS & hormonal imbalances (which often go hand in hand). 

Although I ate well and exercised a bunch I couldn’t beat the bloat, which then turned into increased weight gain and fluid retention. I felt so uncomfortable getting up in front of everyone as a ‘Health professional and Fitness instructor’, My confidence fell to an all-time low... 

So I tried diet after diet - on the search for the magic bullet that would finally work!  I tried eating less, counting calories, exercising more and harder.… You name it, I tried it!

But all the while I was suffering on these diets. I was hungry and deprived. I was grumpy, I was NOT myself!!  

At my lowest point, I felt like a fraud, embarrassed, frustrated and HATED wearing my form-fitting activewear… which I lived in! or get on the stage in front of others who were looking to me for guidance. 

 

Despite numerous visits to the doctor, Gastroenterologist and dietician my symptoms did not seem to subside until I took a step back and took charge of my own emotional, physical, mental & spiritual wellbeing.

I decided that there HAD to be a better way.  

I turned to Ayurveda and healed my gut, lost the weight, cut the overwhelm and balanced my hormones. 

 

I made it my life’s work to study the real science about life, my body, food and nutrition and learn why I was struggling for so many years - I learned how to heal my metabolism (Agni) so I could not only digest my food properly which increased my energy levels but also lose the weight I gained, and keep it off for good.  I finally felt freedom with food and my body, and I learned how to eat and take care of myself that felt nurturing, rather than punishment. I started to appreciate & embrace the wonderful womanly hormones that were part of me as well as navigate ways to keep my hormones harmonious creating MindBody equilibrium. 

 

Which led me to some pretty incredible results….

I didn't want other women to have to suffer the way I did, and if they were I wanted to make it my mission to share the healing wisdom I had learnt and implemented into my life to heal my gut, balance my hormones, cut the feeling of overwhelm and find my ideal weight.

We have a large amount of serotonin in our guts and 'gut issues' can cause great disharmony in the rest of our body and mind. Lifestyle stress in our modern world also plays a large part in 'triggering' these common gut issues. I let the stress of 'life' rule me for far too long!" 

My Passion:

My passion is helping others to live a more balanced and inspired life using a method that I know works & dates back more than 5000 yrs ago ... Ayurveda & Integrative Health "it is the science of life".  

I combined the principles of Ayurveda, functional medicine, modern science, yoga & pilates to achieve optimal health and get to the root cause of dis-ease.
