What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the “Science of Life”. (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge).
Ayurveda is a holistic integrated health care system originating from India around 5000 thousand years ago, combining the knowledge of science, psychology, spirituality and philosophy. Ayurveda is still used worldwide today to maintain the quality and longevity of life & aid in vitality, health, healing & wellbeing. Ayurveda recognises that the mind and body are connected and that optimal health can be achieved through the balance among the mind, body and spirit.
Our health can be a direct reflection of our environment and beliefs, awareness of this allows us to transform in many ways.
Ayurveda transformation is taking some of the ancient teachings and wisdom and applying them to your life to help heal (physically & or emotionally) & enhance the health of your body & mind.
We were all made with different constitutions. Ayurveda helps us to understand our own makeup and apply the knowledge to maintain optimal health and wellbeing through eating for our constitution, understanding certain temperamental traits that may affect our mind and understanding certain health issues that may arise for us.
Ayurveda transformation is about living a lifestyle that allows you to live as the healthiest and most vibrant version of yourself.
What about nutrition?
I offer nutritional guidelines in accordance with your unique constitution. I treat everyone as a unique individual when looking at nutritional requirements. We will work together to create an Ayurvedic meal plan.

What is yoga?
Yoga is an ancient practice originating from India more than 2000yrs ago focusing on the 8 limbs of the Yoga method: 1. Yama (Moral disciplines & restraints), 2. Niyama (positive duties or observances), 3. Asana (Postures), 4. Pranayama (Breathing), 5. Pratyahara (withdrawal of senses), 6. Dharana (focused concentration), 7. Dhyana (Meditation) & 8. Samadhi (absorption, bliss, enlightenment).
Yoga today in the modern world mostly encompasses elements of asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathwork) & meditation in the hope to purify the body, provide physical and inner strength, increase flexibility and mobility, create peace of mind and a more harmonious way of living with oneself. Regular practice allows us to delve deeper into our true essence of being.
Although modern yoga focuses a lot on the asana practise (physical postures), Harmony likes to intertwine the ancient teachings and philosophy of yoga into her classes and practice so that the student has a deeper understanding of their own personal practice on & off the Mat.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a total body exercise, developed almost one hundred years ago by Joseph Pilates. The traditional method is low-impact, focusing on flexibility, muscular strength and endurance. The exercises are performed with an emphasis on precision, technique, balanced postural alignment, core strength, controlled yet flowing movements; whilst using the breath to centre the mind.
Today, Pilates is amongst the most favourite styles of exercise with a lot of new variations and modern twists. We always deliver our classes & exercises using the traditional Pilates principles in a fun and energetic way to shape, strengthen & tone your body whilst working on correcting any postural misalignment. Our Pilates classes always end with a beautiful stretch, lengthening the muscles and facia with a mindfulness savasana to end so that the full benefits of the practice can be absorbed.
