Why Cleanse?

Day in, day out our Mind-Body attempts to “digest” the accumulation of thoughts, unprocessed emotions, foods, environmental toxins, stress & sex hormones produced by the body, synthetic supplements or medication & psychological stress.

With this large load of physical & non-physical matter to “digest”, an accumulation of toxins (ama) can build up over time. If these toxins are not excreted from the body they will be deposited into our fat cells & tissues creating dis-ease within the mind & body.

The busyness and overwhelm of Our modern world has left many of us highly stressed which places great pressure on the nervous system, resulting in weakened digestive function, poor liver health, hormonal imbalances & an inability to detox properly. Due to these many factors, toxins make their way into our fat cells and brain & body tissue.

When under stress the body holds onto fat and fat-soluble toxins, chemicals and pollutants.

Our ability to detoxify these toxins will depend on our ability to digest them.

The 3 phases of an Ayurvedic Cleanse

1. The preparation Phase – This phase is all about preparing the mind & the body by cleaning up your diet & lifestyle so that when you enter the active detoxification phase your body can detoxify the deep tissues and expel the ama (toxins) that reside in those tissues.

2. The Active cleanse/Detoxification Phase – This phase of the cleanse consists of eating an Ayurvedic detox diet that is easy to digest, giving the digestive system a break whilst cleaning the bodies tissues. Ayurvedic food is used to heal the body and nourish the cells.

It is also important in phase to schedule a lot of rest time & minimise exposure to stress.

3. The Rejuvenation Phase – This phase is about slowly reintroducing whole foods that will offer deep nourishment and rejuvenation of the body as well as lifestyle activities that support optimal health & wellbeing.
